Abstract:

Ethical consumption, which started to show itself especially in Western democracies in the second half of the 20th century and gave direction to the consumption attitudes and behaviors of modern society consumers, was born as a reaction to the excessive and unnecessary consumption habits of the individual and developed. In particular, as a result of information gaining a global identity with the prevalence of mass media, individuals have begun to be aware of the basic activities of enterprises such as production, supply and marketing and to react to the ecological deterioration and human rights violations created by these activities. This change has led consumers to be more socially responsible and consider ethical concerns in their purchasing decisions. The main research subject of this study demographic characteristics that are thought to have an impact on consumers' ethical decision-making processes. The aim of this study is to define the consumers' reactions to the corporate social responsibility behaviors of which the ethicality is questionable, to determine the environmental awareness levels of consumers and to reveal the relationship between ethical purchasing behaviors. The aims of this research were determined with a detailed literature research carried out in the light of the identified problem
