Women's Revolt against Social Stereotypes in Toni Morrison's Novels
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje a porovnává tři romány od Toni Morrison: Sulu, Velmi modré oči a Ráj. Zaměřuje se hlavně na vzpouru ženských postav proti společenským stereotypům, kterými jsou představa černošského ženství, ideál bílé krásy a genderová nerovnost. Také zkoumá různá zázemí, ze kterých tyto ženy pocházejí, a utrpení, se kterým se černošky v románech Toni Morrison potýkají.
Abstract:
This thesis analyses and compares three of Toni Morrison’s novels, Sula, The Bluest Eye and Paradise. It mainly focuses on the resistance of female characters to social stereotypes, which are the image of black womanhood, the ideal of white beauty, and the gender inequality.
