The Role of Personal Strategies in Learning German

Abstract:

The objective of the research was focused on finding out the use of didactic strategies in learning German by two selected students of secondary school. This thesis consists of two parts ? theoretical and practical. The theoretical part analyzes terms ?learning? and ?style? related to the theme. Furthermore, the attention is also paid to particular learning strategies, alternative methods and evaluation. Based on the theoretical part, empirical research in form of questionnaires, interviews, testing and consulting was carried out in the practical part. The research was accomplished using case study, which is described in the theoretical part. The results indicate that the direct strategies are used more frequently than the indirect strategies. It was discovered that students use the compensatory strategies most often. The affective and social strategies rank among their least frequently used strategies.

Abstract:

Cílem předložené práce bylo zjistit, jaké učební strategie vybrané žákyně střední školy při učení se němčině využívají. Tato práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. V teoretické části jsou rozpracovány pojmy ?učení? a ?styl?, které s tématem souvisí. Pozornost je věnována i konkrétním učebním strategiím, alternativním metodám a evaluaci. Praktická část navazuje na teorii ve empirickém výzkumu provedeném formou dotazníku, interview, testování a poradenství. Výzkum byl proveden pomocí případové studie, která je popsána v teoretické části. Z výsledků vyplývá, že přímé strategie jsou více používány než nepřímé. Na základě dotazování bylo zjištěno, že žákyně nejvíce používají kompenzační strategie. Mezi jejich nejméně používané učební strategie patří afektivní a sociální strategie.
