The specific role of the small schools in the development of community life in a contemporary village

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice málotřídních škol, jejich vztahu k venkovské komunitě a v neposlední řadě i jejich sociokulturrní funkci na vesnici. Cílem bylo popsat, jak vnímají obyvatelé obce vliv zdejší školy na současný život v obci. Práce je rozdělena na teoretický popis málotřídních škol, popisuje specifické rysy těchto škol, jejich historii, výhody a nevýhody, zabývá se jejich organizací, faktory ovlivňující její fungování. Empirická část práce je zaměřena na výzkum specifické role málotřídní školy v rozvoji komunitního života současné vesnice. Popisuje výběr metodologie, hlavní výzkumnou otázku a charakterizuje zkoumanou školu, obec a analyzuje získaná data. Hlavním výsledkem této práce je zjištění, že málotřídní školy mají v obci své místo a rozhodně si zaslouží ze strany obce, občanů i státu svou podporu, neboť mají oproti plně organizovaným školám spoustu výhod a zároveň přispívají k rozvoji a udržení kulturního a společenského života.

Abstract:

The master's thesis deals with the issues of the one room schools, their link with the countryside community and last but not least, their socio-cultural purpose in the country. The aim of the thesis is to describe the influence of the one room schools upon the current life in the village and how the inhabitants of the village perceive its influence. The thesis is divided intotheoretical part which focuses on the description of the small schools, their specific features, history, advantagesand disadvantages, it also deals with their organization, and with the factors influencing its functioning. Empirical part of the thesis is focused on the research of the specific role of the one room school related to the development of current community life in the village. It also describes the selection of methodology, the main research question and characterizes the municipality studied and analyses the obtaineddata. The main conclusion of this thesis is finding that one room schools have place in the villageand definitely deserve full support from the community, the citizens and the state due to the number of unique advantages of the one room schools unlike the regular schools, such as its contribution to the development and maintenance of cultural and cultural heritage social life.
