An analysis of an attitude of the Conservative Government under the leadership of Winston Churchill (1951-1955) to the Welfare State in 1945-1951

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou přístupu konzervativní vlády pod vedením Winstona Churchilla (1951-1955) k sociálnímu státu z let 1945-1951. Obsahuje stručnou deskripci změn navrhovaných tzv. Beveridgeovou zprávou a tzv. Bílými knihami. Je zde charakterizován sociální stát, který vytvořila Labouristická strana pod vedením Clementa Attleeho ve Velké Británii. V této práci nalezneme stručnou komparaci volebních programů z let 1951 a analýzu výsledků voleb z roku 1945 a 1951. Následně jsou analyzovány přístupy Konzervativní strany k sociálnímu státu během let 1945-1951 a dále v období 1951-1955.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis presents an analysis of an attitude of the Conservative Government under the leadership of Winston Churchill (1951-1955) to the Welfare State in 1945-1951. The thesis contains a brief description of the changes proposed in the Beveridge Report and in the White Papers. There is characterized the Welfare State that has been created by the Labour Party under leadership of Clement Attlee in Great Britain. We can find here a brief comparison of the Party Manifestos from 1951 and an analysis of elections results from 1945 and 1951. Furthermore there is an analysis of an attitude of the Conservative Party to the Welfare State in 1945-1951 and in 1951-1955.
