Alternative Communication in the Education of Disabled Students

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na alternativní a augmentativní komunikaci ve vzdělávání žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami. Diplomová práce je rozpracovaná na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se zabývá pojmy, jako je žák se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami, mentální postižení, tělesné postižení a v neposlední řadě souběžné postižení více vadami. Dále se obecně zabývá vzděláváním žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami. Je zde vymezena základní legislativa, popis základní školy speciální, analýza Rámcového vzdělávacího programu pro obor vzdělání základní škola speciální a školní vzdělávací program. Poslední kapitolu teoretické části tvoří alternativní metody ve výuce žáků s těžkým postižením a souběžným postižením více vadami. Je zde uvedena problematika alternativní a augmentativní komunikace včetně jejich forem, bazální stimulace a snoezelenu. Praktickou část tvoří výzkumný projekt diplomové práce, který je zaměřen na otázky uplatnění alternativní a augmentativní komunikace v ZŠS Modrý klíč. V této kapitole jsou stanoveny cíle, metody a závěry výzkumu. Vlastní výzkum vychází z dotazníkového šetření, kazuistiky žáků a v neposlední řadě je doplněn o rozhovory s učiteli.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on alternative and augmentative communication in the education of pupils with special educational needs. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with expressions such as “pupil with special educational needs”, “mental disability”, “physical disability” and “multiple disabilities”. It also generally concerns itself with education of pupils with special needs. Basic legislation is introduced, description of a special elementary school is provided as well as the analysis of Education Framework for specialization in education, special elementary school and school curriculum. The final chapter of the theoretical part presents alternative methods used in education of pupils with severe disability and multiple disabilities. The chapter concerns itself with the issue of alternative and augmentative communication, including their particular techniques, and subjects of basal stimulation and snoezelen are dealt with. The research project of the thesis forms the practical part of the thesis and is devoted to the subject of application of alternative and augmentative communication in Modrý Klíč Special Elementary School. The chapter sets the objectives and presents methods and results of the research. The original research uses questionnaire examination, pupils’ causation and last but not least it is supplemented by interviews with teachers.
