Abstract:
Defensiny jsou skupina krátkých peptidů bohatých na cystein. Jako součástí vrozené imunity se nacházejí v mnoha tělních tkáních a tekutinách. Zde působí proti bakteriím, plísním i virům. Mutace v genech, které kódují defensiny jsou často spojovány se vznikem a rozvojem různých onemocnění ústní dutiny jako jsou chronická parodontitida a zubní kaz. Abstract:
Defensins are a group of short cysteine-rich peptides. As a part of innate immunity, they are found in many body tissues and fluids, where they act against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Mutations in genes that encode defensins are often associated with the onset and development of various oral diseases, such as chronic periodontitis or dental caries.
