Income tax in the Czech Republic, international comparisons, and the issue of tax havens

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce „Daň z příjmů v České republice, mezinárodní komparace a problematika daňových rájů“ jsou daně z příjmů, charakteristika daňového systému ČR, srovnání s vybranými státy EU a nastínění problémů daňových rájů. První část je charakteristikou základních pojmů vztahujících se k daním a daňovému systému ČR. Druhá část je zaměřena na podrobný popis a vysvětlení fungování daní z příjmů. Ve třetí části je provedeno srovnání daně z příjmů v ČR, na Slovensku a v Chorvatsku. V poslední části je definován pojem daňový ráj, jeho historie, problémy, které s sebou přináší a postoj OECD a EU k tomuto problému.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis "Income tax in the Czech Republic, international comparisons and the issue of tax havens" is to describe the income tax, to discuss the tax system in the Czech Republic, to compare the income tax of selected states of EU and to provide a brief introduction to the problems of tax havens. The first part of the thesis defines basic terms related to taxes and to the tax system in the Czech Republic. The next part describes in detail the application of the income tax. The comparison of the domestic income tax with the income tax in Slovakia and Croatia is made in the third part of the thesis. The last topic that concludes the thesis is the tax havens issue, the concept of tax haven, their history, problems that arise and actions taken by international organizations are outlined.
