Changes in demand for labour in the Czech Republic after 2014

Abstract:

Trh práce je neustále řešeným tématem po celém světě. V České republice byl v roce 2020 registrován historicky nejvyšší počet volných pracovních míst. Poptávka po pracovnících souvisí i do jisté míry se zahraniční pracovní sílou. Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit, zda je poptávka po pracovní síle v současnosti opravdu tak vysoká, jak ukazují veřejné statistiky, a zda je reálný rovněž její neustále lineárně rostoucí trend. V práci jsou analyzovány základní ukazatele trhu práce, jako je počet volných pracovních míst, uchazečů o zaměstnání a uchazečů o zaměstnání na 1 volné pracovní místo, a to nejen za celou ČR, ale také za jednotlivé kraje a okresy. Data, která jsou analyzována, jsou čerpána ze statistik Ministerstva práce a sociálních věcí ČR a Úřadu práce ČR. Výzkum prokázal, že v České republice představoval v období 2014-2019 počet míst pro cizince téměř 80 procent všech evidovaných míst. Dále bylo zjištěno, že volná pracovní místa se souhlasem zaměstnávat cizince nejsou z Centrální evidence volných pracovních míst průběžně odstraňovány, čímž tak dochází ke kumulaci registrovaných míst v evidenci. Zveřejňované statistiky tak uvádí velmi nadhodnocené počty volných míst, a tak i menší hodnotu ukazatele počtu uchazečů o zaměstnání na 1 volné pracovní místo, než ve skutečnosti.

Abstract:

The labour market is a constant topic all over the world. In the Czech Republic, the highest number of vacancies was registered in 2020. The demand for workers is also to some extent related to the foreign workforce. The primary aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out whether the demand for labour is really as high as currently shown by public statistics, and whether its continuously increasing trend is also real. The basic indicators of the labour market are analysed here; such as the number of vacancies, job seekers and job applicants per vacancy, for the whole Czech Republic, but also to the level of regions and districts. The data analysed are taken from the statistics of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Labour Office of the Czech Republic. The research showed that in the Czech Republic in 2014-2019 the number of vacancies for foreigners represented almost 80 percent of all registered number of vacancies. Furthermore, it was found that vacancies with the permission to employ foreigners are not continuously removed from the Central Register of Vacancies, thus accumulating registered jobs in the records. The published statistics thus show a much overvalued number of vacancies and thus a lower value of the indicator of the number of job applicants per vacancy than in reality.
