Anotace:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá potenciálními benefity čtení Afroamerické literatury pro žáky středních škol v České republice se specifickým zaměřením na žáky gymnázií. Výzkum obsažený v diplomové práci se zaměřuje na benefity čtení výše zmíněné literatury pro pochopení historie a kultury Spojených států amerických se speciálním zaměřením na období otroctví a společenské souvislosti s ním spojené. Práce se zabývá především benefity čtení Afroamerické literatury k pochopení společenské a silové dynamiky mezi jednotlivci Evropského a Afroamerického původu a dynamiky mezi muži a ženami spojené s výše zmíněným obdobím.

Abstract:

This master's thesis deals with the potential benefits of reading African American literature for secondary school students in the Czech Republic, with a specific focus on grammar school students. The research included in the thesis focuses on the benefits of reading the aforementioned literature for understanding the history and culture of the United States of America, with a special focus on the period of slavery and the social contexts associated with it. The thesis mainly deals with the benefits of reading African American literature for understanding the social and power dynamics between individuals of European and African American descent and the dynamics between men and women associated with the aforementioned period.
