Analysis of Youth´s Attitudes to the Old Age and Seniors

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou postojů mládeže ke stáří a seniorům. Hlavním cílem výzkumného šetření bylo zmapovat postoje mládeže z pohledu tří komponent - kognitivní, afektivní a konativní a zjistit, jak mládež vnímá pojmy stáří, mládež a senior. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy související s tématem práce. Charakterizuje postoje, jejich složky, funkce a způsoby měření, zmiňuje také některé výzkumy zaměřené na mapování postojů ke stáří a seniorům. Věnuje se stáří, jeho znakům, mýtům spojeným se stářím a mezigeneračním vztahům se zaměřením na vztahy mezi prarodiči a mládeží. Popisuje vývojové období dospívání a adolescence, do kterého patří mládež, která je předmětem výzkumného šetření. Praktická část prezentuje výsledky dotazníkového šetření, které bylo realizováno prostřednictvím online platformy Survio. Výzkumným vzorkem byli žáci středních škol a gymnázií ze Zlínského, Jihomoravského a Moravskoslezského kraje. Vyhodnocená data nám ukazují, že mládež zaujímá ke stáří a seniorům spíše pozitivní postoje.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of youth attitudes towards old age and seniors. The main goal of the research was to map the attitudes of young people from the perspective of three components - cognitive, affective and conative, and to find out how young people perceive the concepts of old age, youth and senior. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to the topic of the work. It characterizes attitudes, their components, functions and methods of measurement, it also mentions some research focused on mapping attitudes towards old age and seniors. It deals with old age, its features, myths associated with old age and intergenerational relationships with a focus on relationships between grandparents and youth. It describes the developmental period of adolescence and adolescence, which includes youth, which is the subject of research. The practical part presents the results of a questionnaire survey, which was conducted through the online platform Survio. The research sample was students of secondary schools and grammar schools from the Zlín, South Moravian and Moravian-Silesian regions. The evaluated data show us that young people have rather positive attitudes towards old age and seniors.
