The thesis deals with the phraseology of the Ancient Times, German sayings and their Czech equivalents. The aim of the thesis is to find Czech equivalents to the German sayings that have their origin in the Ancient Times, as well as their frequency and the unity in the contemporary language. Diplomová magisterská práce se zabývá frazeologií z období antiky, německými rčeními a jejich českými ekvivalenty. Cílem práce je zjistit české ekvivalenty k německým rčením, která vznikla v období starověku, dále jejich četnost a shodu v soudobém jazyce.
