Benchmarking of the museums in the selected region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá benchmarkingovým porovnáním vybraných příspěvkových organizací. Charakterizuje benchmarking, popisuje jeho typy a benchmarkingový cyklus. Pět muzeí zřizovaných Olomouckým krajem bylo porovnáno podle sedmikrokového benchmarkingového cyklu. Bylo vytvořeno 13 ukazatelů (kritérií), které byly rozděleny do tří skupin: podmínky pro činnost muzea, výkony a služby veřejnosti a financování, výdaje, efektivita. Potřebná data (údaje z roku 2013) byla získána zejména ze statistických výkazů V-Kult a také z výročních zpráv jednotlivých organizací. Pro vyhodnocení ukazatelů výkonnosti byl použit model vícekriteriální analýzy variant. Váhy byly určeny metodou bodovací a pro vyhodnocení variant a uspořádání muzeí od nejlepšího k nejhoršímu byla použita metoda váženého součtu. Na základě analýzy byla jednotlivá muzea seřazena od nejlepšího k nejhoršímu (Muzeum Přerov, VM Jesenicka, Muzeum Prostějov, VM Šumperk, VM Olomouc). Porovnávaná organizace, tj. VM Šumperk, dosáhla v šesti případech výsledků podprůměrných, nadprůměrných hodnot pak docílila pouze ve třech případech. Silnými stránkami VM Šumperk je vytváření autorských výstav s nízkými náklady a také množství badatelských návštěv. Naopak slabými stránkami je velký počet zaměstnanců a nízké výnosy ze vstupného na jednoho návštěvníka. Navrhovaným řešením je snižování nákladů na zaměstnance nebo výrazné zlepšení výkonů. Další možností je úprava cen vstupného a také zpoplatnění zapůjčovaných výstav.

Abstract:

The Bachelor Thesis deals with the benchmark survey of the representative non state funded institutions. It characterizes berchmarking and describes its types as well as benchmarking cycles. The five representative museums funded by Olomouc region were compared according 7-steps benchmarking cycle. Thirteen indicators were divided into 3 groups: conditions of operation, public service and funding, costs and efficiency. The necessary statistics were gained mainly from V-kult and annual reports of the representative state funded organizations. The weights were determined by a scoring and evaluation of alternatives and layout of museums from best to worst method was used a weighted sum. Based on the analysis of the individual museums sorted from best to worst (Museum of National History in Přerov, Jeseník, Prostějov, Šumperk, Olomouc). The compared organization Museum of National History in Šumperk, reached in six cases the results below average, values above then achieved in only three cases. The strengths pose creating solo exhibitions with low costs. Conversely weaknesses are large number of employees and low sales. The proposed solution is to reduce staff costs or significantly improve employee's efficiency. Another possibility is to increase ticket price and charge exhibition's rental.
