Illustrations in reading books for basic schools

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce je otázka ilustrace v čítankách pro základní školy. Z hlediska všeobecné teorie si klade za cíl osvětlit pojmy z oblasti ilustrace (především ilustrace v literatuře pro děti a mládež), jejích funkcí a vztahů, ilustračních typů; jak byla ilustrace pro děti a mládež odborníky v historii vnímána. Chce určitým způsobem sumarizovat požadavky, které jsou na ilustraci kladeny v prostředí školy. Část bude věnována také nárokům kladeným na osobnost ilustrátora. Oddíl praktický se pak pokusí přiblížit a do jisté míry zhodnotit současný stav českých čítanek z hlediska kvality a počtu ilustrací, použitých výtvarných technik nebo přínosnosti ilustrací pro rozvoj estetického vnímání žáků. Bude relevantní dokázat a odbornou literaturou podložit fakt, proč naše společnost potřebuje umělecky hodnotnou ilustraci v učebnicích – a především pak v čítankách. Tato práce hledá odpovědi na otázky, jakými jsou např.: Jak by měly vypadat kvalitní ilustrace? Jaký význam mají ilustrace pro vnímání literárního textu?

Abstract:

The theme of this thesis is the question of illustrations in reading books for primary schools. From the perspective of the general theory aims to illuminate the terms of illustrations (mostly illustrations in children's literature), its functions and relationships, illustration types; how was the children's illustrations perceived by experts over time. This work wants to summarize the demands that are placed on the illustration in the school environment. Part will be paid to requirements placed on the personality of illustrator. Practical section attempts to approach and extent to evaluate the current state of Czech readers in the terms of quality and number of illustrations used artistic techniques, illustrations for the development of aesthetic perception of students. It will be relevant to prove by scientific literature to support the fact why our society needs artistically valuable illustration in textbooks - and especially in the school books. This paper seeks answers to questions such as.: How should good illustrations look like? How significant are the illustrations for the perception of a literary text?
