Transformation of boarding house for pensioners to a house for seniors

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se budu zabývat tématem seniorů v naší společnosti a institucemi, které jim slouží. Vzhledem k tomu, že nejen česká, ale celkově západní společnost stárne se domnívám, že tématika seniorů a péče o ně se do budoucna stane čím dál více důležitou a bude nutno rozšířit možnosti pomoci jim samotným i jejich rodinám. Pro pochopení dané problematiky je nutné vědět, kdo vlastně senioři jsou a definovat jaké mají potřeby. Z tohoto důvodu se velká část mé práce zabývá tím, jaký je proces stárnutí a zkoumá jaké tělesné i psychické změny stáří provází. Dále se ve své práci budu věnovat tomu, jaké instituce pro seniory v současné době existují a jakou oporu mají v zákonech, konkrétně jaké změny přinesl zákon č. 108/2006 Sb., o sociálních službách Část práce je věnována také podmínkám v dnešních domovech pro seniory, tomu jak by to v nich mělo vypadat, aby se zde senioři cítili co nejlépe a jakým způsobem dbát na rozvoj jejich tělesné i psychické pohody. Za význam své práce považuji obohacení mých vědomostí v tématice vývojové psychologie v seniorském věku a získání nových poznatků v oblasti sociální práce v domovech pro seniory. Domnívám se, že má práce by mohla být přínosem i pro veřejnost, která se v oblasti psychologie a sociální práce nevzdělává.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis deals with seniors in our society and institutions were created for them. There are more and more elder people not only in Czech society, but also in the whole western society. I believe that the issue of seniors and care about them will be even more important in the future and we will need to expand opportunities to help them and help their families. In order to understand this we need to know who seniors are and what they need. For this reason, a big part of my thesis deals with the issue what it means to get elder and what physical and mental changes occure in old age. In my work I will also write about institutions for the seniors which currently exist and how they are supported by the laws, especially changes which brought Law no. 108/2006 of social services. Part of the thesis is also dedicated to conditions in houses for the seniors. What they should look like in order to feel comfortable there and what is the best way to ensure the development of physical and psychological well being. The aim of my thesis is to improve my knowledge of the topic of developmental psychology in senior age and to obtain new knowledge in the field of social work in institutions for the seniors. I believe that my thesis could be interesting for the people, who are not edified in the field of psychology and social work.
