Study on Interactions in Chitosan Solutions with Ionic/Nonionic Surfactants

Abstract:

Teoretická část bakalářské práce je zaměřena na surfaktanty, jejich směsi a chování v roztocích. Další část se zabývá polysacharidy, především vlastnostmi a využitím chitosanu, který byl využit v experimentální části. V neposlední řadě jsou zde popsány vzájemné interakce mezi surfaktanty a polymery a jejich praktické využití. V praktické části byly nejprve zkoumány micelizační parametry vybraného anionického lauroylsarkosinátu sodného, a jeho směsí s neionickým Poloxamerem P407, v závislosti na pH prostředí, a to pomocí měření povrchového napětí a vodivosti. Tenziometrie a konduktometrie, spolu s měřením viskozity a zeta potenciálu, byly využity i pro hodnocení vzájemných interakcí mezi surfaktanty a chitosanovými polymerem. Závěr praktické části je věnován studiu chování směsi surfaktantů a chitosanu s obsahem thymolu jako modelové aktivní látky, za účelem vyhodnocení jejich potenciálu pro přípravu funkčních nosičů.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on surfactants, their mixtures and behavior in solutions. The next part deals with polysaccharides, especially the properties and use of chitosan, which was used in the experimental part. Finally, the interactions between surfactants and polymers and their practical use are described here. In the practical part, micelization parameters of selected anionic sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, and its mixtures with nonionic Poloxamer P407, were first investigated, depending on pH, by measuring surface tension and conductivity. Tensiometry and conductometry, together with viscosity and zeta potential measurements, have also been used to evaluate the interactions between surfactants and chitosan polymers. The conclusion of the practical part is devoted to the study of the behavior of a mixture of surfactants and chitosan containing thymol as a model active substance, in order to evaluate their potential for the preparation of functional carriers.
