Vzdělávání žáků s mentální disabilitou na příkladu večerní školy

Education of students with mental disabilities in the social care evening school

Abstract:

Předložená práce popisuje systém vzdělávání osob s mentální disabilitou skrze školskou soustavu a její neoficiální doplněk realizovaný prostřednictvím sociálních služeb. Současně představuje přípravu na vyučovací hodinu pro žáky se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami kvůli jejich, zpravidla středně těžké, mentální disabilitě s tématem „Umírání a smrt blízkých osob“; to vše v rámci tzv. večerní školy Domova Horizont v Kyjově, tedy v rámci vzdělávání mimo školskou soustavu. Reálně proběhlá vyučovací/diskusní hodina byla současně přípravou pro následnou diskusi k tématu, která byla dílem součástí výzkumu realizovaného v rámci jiného akademického studia, dílem tvoří určitou zpětnou vazbu pro management domova k dalšímu zakomponování tohoto tématu v rámci provozu sociální služby („domova“). Výstupy z vyučovací hodiny jsou stručně shrnuty do kategorií a subkategorií a dále jsou dány do vzájemného vztahu a interakce ve vytvořeném vztahovém diagramu za využití zakotvené teorie. Metoda: Příprava učitele na řízení a moderování ohniskové skupiny s počtem 6 osob s lehkou až středně těžkou mentální disabilitou v časové dotaci jedné vyučovací hodiny, tj. 45 minut. Celkem proběhly 4 ohniskové skupiny s 24 žáky s mentální disabilitou. Výsledkem hodiny bylo nejen naplnění výchovných a částečně i vzdělávacích cílů, ale pro účely výzkumu především následný popis dynamiky každé skupiny pomocí otevřeného a axiálního kódování. Příprava na výuku: přihlédnutí k hloubce mentálních a fyzických možností každého žáka, použití alternativní a augmentativní komunikace (dále jen AAK) s prvky jednoduchosti a názornosti. Výsledky: (1) Představení fenoménu umírání, jeho fyzické danosti a psychických souvislostí a dopadů. (2) Výstupy z diskuzních skupin pro účely původního výzkumu, s následnou možností zohlednění zjištění v provozu domova. Diskuze: Vyučující v rámci večerní školy navazuje na témata z každodenního života, se kterými se žák setkává ve svém přirozeném sociálním prostředí. Dává žákovi prostor k otevření těchto témat, pojmenování a popis problému. V neposlední řadě se snaží podnítit žákovo kritické myšlení k řešení vzniklých situací a problémů souvisejících s probíraným tématem. Závěr: Večerní škola Domova Horizont navazuje na základní vzdělávání žáků s mentální disabilitou. Vzdělávání má za cíl udržovat, upevňovat a rozvíjet nabité vědomosti ze základního stupně vzdělání a/nebo ze středního stupně vzdělání. Zaměřuje se na výchovné cíle v oblasti socializace osob s mentální disabilitou v jejich přirozeném prostředí.

Abstract:

The presented work describes the system of education of persons with mental disabilities through the educational system and its informal supplement implemented through social services. At the same time, it presents preparation for a lesson with the theme "Dying and death of loved ones" for pupils with special educational needs due to their, usually moderate, mental disability. This is done through the so-called evening school of the home for people with mental disability „Domov Horizont“ in Kyjov, i.e. within the framework of education outside the school system. The realized teaching/discussion class was also a preparation for the subsequent discussion on the topic, which partly was a part of the research carried out within another academic study, and partly brought feedback to the management of the care institution to further integrate this topic into the life of the social care service. The outputs from the lesson are briefly summarized into categories and subcategories and then put into mutual relation and interaction in the relational diagram created using grounded theory. Method: Teacher preparation for managing and moderating a focus group of 6 people with mild to moderate mental disabilities in the time allowance of one lesson, i.e. 45 minutes. There were 4 focus groups held with 24 pupils with mental disabilities in total. The result of the lesson was not only the fulfilment of the educational goals, but for the purposes of research, above all, the subsequent description of the dynamics of each group using open and axial coding. Preparation for teaching: consideration of the depth of mental and physical capabilities of each student, use of alternative and augmentative communication (further referred to as AAK) with elements of simplicity and clarity. Results: (1) Presentation of the phenomenon of dying, its physical predispositions and psychological connections and impacts. (2) Discussion group presentations for the purposes of original research, with the subsequent possibility of taking the findings into account in the life of the social care home. Discussion: At the evening school, the teacher brings forward topics from everyday life that the student encounters in their own social environment. It gives the student opportunity to follow up on these topics, name challenges and describe problems. Last but not least, the teacher tries to stimulate the student's critical thinking to solve the situations and problems related to the topic under discussion. Conclusion: The evening school of the home „Domov Horizont“ constitutes continuing education of pupils with mental disability. The purpose of the informal education is to maintain, consolidate and develop knowledge acquired in the primary and/or secondary level of education. The focus is on educational goals in the area of socialization of persons with mental disability in their own social environment.
