3D Printing of Sandwich Structures Using the FFF Method with Regards to the Combination of Suitable Materials

Abstract:

Hlavními trendy ve 3D tisku jsou v dnešní době především zpřesňování, zrychlování a zlevňování výroby, a to v kombinaci se stále se zvětšujícímu množství tisknutelných materiálů. Možnost multimateriálového 3D tisku tu je sice od jeho počátků, kdy se používal pro tisk podpor pod samotným výtiskem, ale využití dvou a více materiálu v jednom funkčním dílci není dodnes zcela běžné. Pro takové výrobky je obvykle nutné využít speciálních a drahých zařízení. Z tohoto důvodu byly tisknuty na cenově dostupné 3D tiskárně různé druhy flexibilních a rigidních materiálů ve formě sendvičových struktur a následně zkoumán vliv procesních parametrů na kvalitu spojení obou materiálů v kontaktní vrstvě. Takto vyrobené vzorky byly podrobeny mechanickým zkouškám a následně veškerá data vyhodnocena.

Abstract:

The main trends in 3D printing today are precision, acceleration and cheaper production, combined with an ever-increasing number of printable materials. The possibility of multi-material 3D printing has been there since its beginnings, when it was used to print supports under the print itself, but the use of two or more materials in one functional part is still not common today. For such products, it is usually necessary to use specialized expensive equipment. For this reason, various types of flexible and rigid materials in the form of sandwich structures were printed on an affordable 3D printer, and then the influence of process parameters on the quality of the connection of both materials in the contact layer was investigated. The samples produced in this way are subjected to mechanical tests and subsequently all data is evaluated.
