Eating habits of police officers during the service

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřená na zjištění, jaké mají policisté a policistky při výkonu služby stravovací návyky a jaké mají znalosti v oblasti stravování. Dílčím cílem je pak zjištění, zda o zdravé stravování jeví zájem a odkud čerpají informace k tomuto tématu. Teoretická část obsahuje informace o Policii České republiky, dále o zdraví, zdravém životním stylu a výživě. Podrobněji jsou zde popsány živiny jako sacharidy, bílkoviny, tuky, vitamíny a minerály. Jsou zde uvedeny druhy alternativního způsobu stravování. Rovněž je zde uvedená energetická bilance. V praktické části byl použit nestandardizovaný dotazník, na který odpovědělo 50 respondentů z toho 82 % mužů a 18 % žen. Odpovědi z dotazníků byly analyzovány a byly vyhodnoceny jejich výsledky. Na základě výsledků bylo zjištěno, že 42 % respondentů při výkonu služby upřednostňuje nutričně vyvážený způsob stravování a 60 % respondentů uvedlo, že jim zaměstnání takový způsob stravování umožňuje. Dále bylo zjištěno že se respondenti v této oblasti svou úrovní znalostí orientují a k pojmu zdravé stravování se vyjádřilo 84 % respondentů. Způsob stravování s charakterem služby a výdejem energie v práci přizpůsobuje nebo se snaží přizpůsobovat 38 % respondentů. Následně bylo zjištěno, že o zdravé stravování nejen při výkonu služby jeví zájem 72 % respondentů. Informace k tématu zdravá výživa nejčastěji čerpají z internetu, ostatními zdroji informací jsou televize, knihy, časopisy nebo škola.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is aimed at finding out what kind of eating habits police officers have and what kind of knowledge they have in the field of catering. A sub-objective is to find out whether they are interested in healthy eating and where they get their information on this topic. The theoretical part contains information about the Police of the Czech Republic, health, healthy lifestyle and nutrition. Nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals are described in more detail. Types of alternative diets are listed. An energy balance is also given. In the practical part, a non-standardised questionnaire was used, which was answered by 50 respondents, 82 % of whom were male and 18 % female. The questionnaire responses were analysed and the results were evaluated. Based on the results, it was found that 42 % of the respondents preferred a nutritionally balanced diet while on duty and 60 % of the respondents stated that their employment allowed them to eat in this way. It was also found that the respondents were knowledgeable in this area and 84 % of the respondents expressed their opinion on the concept of healthy eating. 38 % of the respondents adapt or try to adapt the way they eat to the nature of their service and energy expenditure at work. Consequently, it was found that 72 % of respondents are interested in healthy eating not only in the performance of their duties. The most common sources of information on healthy eating are the internet, other sources of information are television, books, magazines or school.
