The Integration of Children with Downś Syndrome at Elementary School

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývala problematikou integrace žálů s Downovým syndromem na prvním stupni základní školy. Jejím cílem vyůo shrnout teoretická východiska dané problematiky a v rámci výzkumného šetření zjistit pozitiva a negativa, která sebou tento integrační proces na běžné základní škole přináší a dále na základě zjištěných skutečností navrhnout opatření pro pedagogickou praxi. Teoretická část diplomové práce je členěna do tří kapitol. První kapitola shrnuje terminologická východuska a specifika vývoje dítěte s mentálním postižením a dítěte s Downovým syndromem. Druhá kapitola vymezuje možnosti podpory a vzdělávání osob s mentální retardací, včetně legislativního rámce vzdělávání jedinců se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami. Třetí kapitola obsahuje charakteristiku výchovy a vzdělávání dítěte s Downovým syndromem. Výzkumné šetření je zpracováno ve čtvrté kapitole. V rámci kvalitativního šetření byly zpracovány kasuistické studie a interpretace z rozhovorů se všemi zainteresovanými stranami integrace dětí s Downovým syndromem na prvním stupni základní školy Červený Vrch. Výzkum byl doplněn orientačním dotazníkem. Na základě získaných výsledků byly zformulovány závěry a doporučení pro speciálně pedagogickou praxi.

Abstract:

This thesis disserts on the issue of the integration of pupils with Down´s syndrome at elementary school. Its aim was to bring together theoretical resources of this problem and do research into the pros and cons, which the process of integration at common elementary school brings along. The follow up goal was to propose measures for practical education work based on the outcomes of the research. The theoretical of the thesis is dividend into three chapters. Chapter one summarizes term bases and the specifies of development of mentally handicapped children and children with Down´s syndrome. Chapter two specifies the possibilities of backing and education of children and education of mentally retarded people, including the legislative frame of education of individuals with specific needs. Chapter three comprises characteristic of education of children with Down´s syndrome. The research project is covered in chapter four. In the scope of qualitative research casuistic studies were carried out and interpretations of discussions with all subjects concerned recorded relating to the integration of children with Down´s syndrome at elementary school at Červený Vrch. The research was accompanied by a questionnaire expert. Findings and recommendations for specific educational practice were enunciated on the basic of the research out comes.
