The present diploma thesis deals with the definition of translation, translation issues and approaches towards these issues. The practical part is focused on the personality of the Czech poet Karel Hynek Mácha, his magnum opus ?Máj? and its two translations. Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce se zabývá definicí překladu, problematikou překladu a samotnými přístupy k této problematice. Praktická část je zaměřena na osobu českého básníka Karla Hynka Máchu, na jeho vrcholné dílo Máj a na dva z jeho překladů. Dané překlady budou srovnány na základě podrobné analýzy s originálem a na základě poznatků získaných v teoretické časti navzájem porovnány a pečlivě zhodnoceny.
