Immigration and immigration policy of the EU

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje vývoji evropské imigrační politiky v souvislosti s migračními toky na území Evropské unie a to od vzniku Evropského společenství s důrazem na současné období. V první kapitole je popsán vývoj evropské spolupráce v oblasti imigrace od konce druhé světové války až do současnosti. Druhá kapitola přináší přehled o vývoji migračních toků na území Evropské unie. Samostatná podkapitola je věnována vlivu současné finanční a hospodářské krize na tyto toky. Třetí kapitola poukazuje na některé problémy, které imigrace v určitých státech vyvolává. V závěru práce jsou nastíněny možnosti budoucího vývoje v oblasti imigrační politiky.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the development of European immigration policy in connection with the migration flows within the European Union since the creation of the European Community with emphasis on the current period. The first chapter describes the development of European immigration cooperation since the Second World War to the present. The second chapter gives an overview of the evolution of migration flows within the European Union. A separate section concerns the impact of current financial and economic crisis on these flows. The third chapter highlights some of the problems that immigration causes in certain countries. In conclusion of the thesis possible future developments in the field of immigration policy are outlined.
