Analysis of the position of MERCOSUR in the international trade from the position of its possible liberalization

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá popisem a analýzou pozice uskupení latinskoamerických zemí, Mercosuru, v mezinárodním obchodě. Tato pozice je navíc zkoumána v rámci jeho možné liberalizace. Cílem práce je zhodnocení mezinárodního obchodu Mercosuru s jeho největšími obchodními partnery a možnosti liberalizace probíhajícího obchodu, především s ohledem na politické implikace, které s sebou nesou. V úvodu práce obsahuje teoretické seznámení s mezinárodním obchodem prostřednictvím nejpoužívanějších teorií. Dále práce identifikuje Mercosur vč. tržní a ekonomické situace jeho členů, popisuje vývoj i současnou situaci vzájemného obchodu a spolupráce Mercosuru s Čínou, Spojenými státy americkými a Evropskou unií. V závěru práce probíhá analýza liberalizace vzájemného obchodu. Práce má empiricko-analytický charakter a je vypracována na základě relevantních zahraničních i domácích zdrojů a statistických dat.

Abstract:

This Diploma thesis deals with the description and analysis of the position of the group of Latin American countries, Mercosur, in international trade. In addition, this position is being examined in the context of its possible liberalization. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the international trade of Mercosur with its largest trading partners and the possibility of trade liberalization given the political implications, they entail. The introduction contains a theoretical introduction to international trade through the most used theories. Furthermore, the work identifies Mercosur incl. market and economic situation of its members, describes the history and current situation of bilateral trade and cooperation of Mercosur with China, the United States of America and the European Union. At the end, the thesis analyzes the liberalization of bilateral trade. The thesis has an empirical-analytical character and is based on relevant foreign and domestic sources and statistical data.
