Providing the thermal comfort of patients during the perioperative period

Anotace:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou zajištění teplotního komfortu u dospělých pacientů podstupujících operační zákrok v celkové anestezii a sledováním změn tělesné teploty v perioperačním období. Teoretická část práce determinuje perioperační období, popisuje termoregulační mechanismy člověka, možnosti monitorace tělesné teploty. Obsahuje aktuálních poznatky o problematice perioperační hypotermie v souvislosti s celkovou anestezií, rizikové faktory pro její vznik a komplikace. V empirické části diplomové práce jsou analyzována data získaná prostřednictvím záznamového archu vlastní konstrukce. Získané výsledky výzkumného šetření jsou komparovány s dalšími studiemi, které se daným tématem zabývají. Byly stanoveny tři cíle diplomové práce, všechny tři cíle byly splněny. Výstupem diplomové práce je edukační materiál s názvem Desatero pro prevenci perioperační hypotermie u operací trvajících >30 minut, které obsahuje základní doporučení vycházející z evidence based medicine, jak předcházet vzniku perioperační hypotermie.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of ensuring thermal comfort in adult patients undergoing surgery under general anaesthesia and monitoring of body temperature changes in the perioperative period. The theoretical part of the thesis determines the perioperative period, describes the thermoregulatory mechanisms of humans, the possibilities of monitoring body temperature. It contains current knowledge on the problem of perioperative hypothermia in connection with general anaesthesia, risk factors for its occurrence and complications. The empirical part of the thesis analyses data obtained by means of a mark-sheet of own construction. The obtained results of the research investigation are compared with other studies dealing with the topic. Three objectives were set for the thesis and all three objectives were met. The output of the thesis is an edu- cational material entitled Ten Guidelines for the Prevention of Perioperative Hypothermia in Operations Lasting >30 minutes, which contains basic recommendations based on evidence-based medicine to prevent the occurrence of perioperative hypothermia.
