Horizons of Dramaturgy

Abstract:

V diplomové práci Horizonty dramaturgie se zabývám přesahy divadelní dramaturgie do dalších uměleckých disciplín. Nahlížím na dramaturgii nikoli jako na funkci, kterou lze vykonávat z bezpečné vzdálenosti od centra dění, ale jako na aktivně jednající jevištní složku při vzniku uměleckého díla; jako na autorskou, tvůrčí činnost s potenciálem přesahovat divadelní inscenaci k mnoha dalším nejen uměleckým formátům. Na základě čtyř rozhovorů s českými umělci porovnávám činnost dramaturga s prací kurátora, literárního editora a hudebního producenta. Skrz příbuznosti těchto oborů se snažím pojmenovat pozici dramaturgie při vzniku uměleckého díla, autorské strategie, které při své práci volí a vizi budoucnosti tohoto oboru ve vztahu k jeho přesahům do dalších uměleckých oblastí.

Abstract:

In my Master’s thesis called Horizons of Dramaturgy I deal with certain theater dramaturgy and other artistic disciplines overlaps. I imagine dramaturgy not as a set of functions performed from a safe distance, but as an active component in the creation of a work of art; as an authorial, creative activity with the potential to reach beyond theatrical production to many other (not only artistic) forms. Based on four interviews with Czech artists, I compare the activities of a dramaturge with the work of a curator, a literary editor and a music producer. Through the relatedness of these disciplines I try to name the position of dramaturgy in the theater creation process, the dramaturge‘s authorial strategies and my vision of the dramaturgy field future development in relation to its overlaps with other artistic areas.
