The influence of the emotional intelligence of the manager on the learning culture in the organization

Abstract:

V diplomové práci je zkoumán vliv emoční inteligence manažera na kulturu učení v organizaci. V rámci literární rešerše je představeno několik přístupů k emoční inteligenci, pozornost je zaměřena také na kulturu učení v organizaci a dimenze učící se organizace. Vztah mezi emoční inteligencí a kulturou učení je stěžejní částí této práce. V aplikační části byl proveden kvantitativní výzkum pomocí dotazníkového šetření, kterého se zúčastnili podřízení pracovníci vybraných manažerů z dvou společností. Za pomoci dotazníku “Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire” hodnotili respondenti výši emoční inteligence manažera a zároveň odpovídali v rámci dotazníku “The Dimensions of Learning Organizations Questionnaire” na otázky ohledně vnímané kultury učení na svém pracovišti. Výsledek získaných dat prokázal slabou a střední závislost mezi složkami emoční inteligence vedoucího pracovníka a jednotlivými dimenzemi učící se organizace. V závěru jsou vypracována doporučení pro obě organizace a vedoucí pracovníky, které jim pomohou zlepšit učení na svých pracovištích.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis examines the influence of emotional intelligence of a manager on the culture of learning in the organization. Several approaches to emotional intelligence are presented in the literature search, attention is also focused on the culture of learning in the organization and the dimensions of the learning organization. The relationship between emotional intelligence and learning culture is a central part of this work. In the application part, quantitative research was carried out using a questionnaire survey, which was attended by subordinate employees of selected managers from two companies. Using the “Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire”, the respondents assessed the level of the manager's emotional intelligence and at the same time answered questions about the perceived learning culture in their workplace within the “The Dimensions of Learning Organizations Questionnaire”. The result of the obtained data showed a weak and medium dependence between the components of the emotional intelligence of the manager and the individual dimensions of the learning organization. Finally, recommendations are made for both organizations and managers to help them improve learning in their workplaces.
