Predkladaná práca sa zaoberá analýzou skupiny štyroch anglických adjektív awful, dreadful, horrible a terrible, ktoré sa bežne považujú za synonymné výrazy. Cieľom práce je skúmať kolokácie daných adjektív so substantívami a zistiť, či je možné nájsť rozdiely v ich použití a význame. This thesis deals with the analysis of a selected group of English adjectives awful, dreadful, horrible and terrible, which are generally regarded as synonyms. The aim of this thesis is to examine the adjective-noun collocations and to find out whether the adjectives differ in their use and meaning or not.
