Issues of Palliative Care in Pre-Hospital Care

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je problematika paliativní péče v přednemocniční péči. První část práce se zaměřuje na teoretický přehled problematiky paliativní péče, včetně definice, a historie. Jsou zde uvedeny organizační formy, zahrnuje etické a právní aspekty, charakteristiku, komunikaci, proces a fázi umírání, smrt a přednemocniční neodkladnou péči. Druhá část se opírá o výsledky kvantitativního průzkumu prováděného prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření mezi zdravotnickými záchranáři. V této části jsou analyzovány poznatky a zkušenosti zdravotnických záchranářů týkající se paliativní péče. Provedeným průzkumem bylo zjištěno, že zdravotničtí záchranáři nejsou dostatečně informování v problematice paliativní péče. Z průzkumu také vyplývá, že umírající má vždy právo na autonomní rozhodování o zdravotnickém postupu a má vždy nárok na zdravotnickou péči, bez ohledu na fázi nemoci bez ohledu na délce praxe zdravotnických záchranářů. Součástí praktické části bylo provedení Fisherova testu, který zkoumá nulovou hypotézu o nezávislosti. Další součástí praktické části je diskuze, výstupem práce je doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor’s thesis is the issues of palliative care in pre-hospital care. The first part of the thesis focuses on a theoretical overview of palliative care issues, including its definition and history. It present organizational forms and covers ethical and legal aspecsts, charakteristic, communication, the proces and phases of dying, death and prehospital care. The second part is based on the results of a quantitative research conducted through a questionnaire survey among paramedics. This part analyzes the findings and experiences od emergency medical technicians regarding palliative care. The research found that paramedics are not sufficiently informed about palliative care issues. The survey also indicates that the dying always has the right to autonomous decision-making regarding medical procedures and is always entitled to medical care, regardless of the stage of illness and regardless of the length of practice of emergency medical technicians. The practical part included the Fisher's exact test, which examines the null hypothesis of independence. Another component is the discussion, and the outcome of the thesis is recommendations for practice.
