Burnout syndrom among nurses

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu syndromu vyhoření u zdravotních sester. Hlavním cílem této práce je zjistit závažnost dané problematiky u zdravotních sester konkrétní nemocnice a navrhnutí doporučení pro management daného zařízení, které jim umožní implementovat preventivní opatření a předcházet tak nebo snížit míru vyhoření. Teoretická část podává ucelený přehled o syndromu vyhoření a práci na intenzivní péči. Vlastní výzkum se skládá ze dvou částí, kvantitativního a kvalitativního výzkumu. Kvantitativní výzkum obsahoval dva dotazníky – identifikační dotazník, který umožnil získat základní sociodemografické informace o respondentech a MBI dotazník sloužící ke zjištění syndromu vyhoření mezi respondenty. Kvantitativní analýza obsahovala vyhodnocení obou dotazníků a jejich následnou komparaci. V rámci kvalitativního výzkumu se uskutečnily polostrukturované rozhovory, které byly podrobeny tematické analýze. Výstupem této diplomové práce je zjištění závažnosti vyhoření mezi respondenty, hlubší poznání jejich osobních zkušeností v oblasti této problematiky, a především formulace doporučení pro zaměstnavatele k prevenci.

Abstract:

The master thesis focuses on the issue of burnout syndrome among nurses. The aim of this theses is to determine the severity of the problem among nurses in a particular hospital and to propose recommendations for the management of the facility that will enable them to implement preventive measures and prevent or reduce the burnout rate. The theoretical part provides a comprehensive overview of burnout syndrome and work in intensive care. The research consists of two parts, quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative research included two questionnaires - an identification questionnaire, which allowed to obtain basic socio-demographic information about respondents, and the MBI questionnaire used to determine burnout syndrome among respondents. The quantitative analysis included the evaluation of both questionnaires and their subsequent comparison. In the qualitative research, semi-structured interviews were conducted and subjected to thematic analysis. The output of this master's thesis is the identification of the severity of burnout among the respondents, a deeper understanding of their personal experiences in this area, and primarily the formulation of recommendations for employers to prevent burnout.
