Causes, actors, course and impact of the conflict in Mali

Abstract:

Téma bakalářské práce je „Příčiny, aktéři, průběh a dopady konfliktu v Mali“. V první části práce je definován ozbrojený konflikt všeobecně, se zaměřením na vnitrostátní konflikt. V práci jsou dále popsány jednotlivé fáze konfliktu, je naznačeno, jací mohou být aktéři, příčiny a dopady konfliktu. Ve druhé části je popsána metodologie a jsou určeny výzkumné otázky. Ve třetí části se už práce věnuje cíli bakalářské práce, kterým je analyzovat a popsat příčiny ozbrojeného konfliktu v Mali. Práce se bude věnovat roli a účasti různých aktérů, jako jsou místní povstalci, mezinárodní organizace a cizí mocnosti. Dále analyzuje průběh konfliktu a důsledky pro obyvatelstvo a region. Poslední část představí odpovědi na položené výzkumné otázky této práce. Konflikt v Mali zasáhl celý region Sahelu a organizace, které se do něj zapojily. Konflikt je velmi složité povahy a bude potřeba trvalých a komplexních opatření, aby Mali konečně dosáhlo vytouženého míru.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is "Causes, actors, course and impact of the conflict in Mali". The first part of the thesis defines armed conflict in general, with a focus on internal conflict. The thesis will then describe the different phases of the conflict, outlining what the actors, causes and effects of the conflict may be. The second part will describe the methodology and identify the research questions. In the third part, the thesis already addresses the aim of the thesis, which is to analyse and describe the causes of the armed conflict in Mali. The thesis will look at the role and involvement of different actors such as local rebels, international organizations and foreign powers. It will also describe the course of the conflict and the consequences for the population and the region. The last section will present the answers to the research questions posed in this thesis. The conflict in Mali has affected the entire Sahel region and the organizations involved. The conflict is very complex in nature and sustained and comprehensive measures will be needed for Mali to finally achieve the desired peace.
