From Confirmation to Open Inquiry - laboratory activities for secondary school students

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá badatelsky orientovanou výukou, konkrétně úrovněmi bádání. Autor se zaměřuje na tvorbu aktivizačních úloh a jejich ověřování v praxi. Cílem práce je zjistit úroveň badatelsky orientovaného myšlení u žáků základních škol a nižších gymnázií. Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje obecně na konstruktivistické pojetí výuky, badatelsky orientovanou výuku jako takovou, úrovně bádání a jednotlivé kroky badatelského postupu. V praktické části autor navrhuje sérii úloh vhodnou pro studenty základních i středních škol, zaměřující se na mapování úrovně badatelského myšlení. Tyto úlohy jsou následně ověřeny a výsledky vyhodnoceny.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with Inquiry Based Science Education, especially with levels of inquiry. The author focuses on creation activation tasks and their verification in practise. The main goal is to learn the level of inquiry students of the elementary schools and lower grammar schools have. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the description of the activation tasks and there are definitions of the main inquiry levels and the differences between them. In the practical part of the thesis, the author designs a series of tasks suited for elementary and middle school student. These tasks are focused on mapping the inquiry levels. Furthermore these tasks are verified among students and results are evaluated.
