Green hotelier as Part of Sustainable Tourism

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce jak již sám název napovídá, pojednává o ekologických přístupech v hotelnictví, jež mají i přímý vliv na celou oblast průmyslu cestovního ruchu. V první části práce, jež se zabývá teorií, jsou pro snadnější pochopení celého problému popsány pojmy jako ekologie, cestovní ruch včetně hotelnictví, udržitelný rozvoj a s ním spojený trvale udržitelný cestovní ruch. Tato část popisuje i vliv hotelnictví a cestovního ruchu na životní prostředí a to nejen pozitivní, ale i negativní. Je zde také zmíněna role mezinárodních organizací v prosazování udržitelného cestovního ruchu. Dále jsou v práci popsány ekologické koncepty v hotelnictví, které zahrnují pojmy jako green management, zelený hotel a s ním spojené výrazy ekoznačka a environmentální manažerské systémy. V praktické části bakalářské práce je zhodnocena environmentální situace provozu mnou vybraného čtyřhvězdičkového hotelu. Zde byly odhaleny i nedostatky a rezervy, jejichž možnou nápravou a následným přínosem se zabývá návrhová část této práce. Závěrečná část se zabývá i vlivem již aplikovaných a také v práci navrhovaných ekologických opatření na ekonomické výsledky hotelu a zároveň i na image hotelu.

Abstract:

This bachelor´s thesis as its name suggests, deals with ecological approaches within the hotel industry, which have a direct impact on the entire tourism industry. The first part, which consists of theoretical topics, aims to ensure easier understanding of the problem described through terms such as ecology, tourism which includes hospitality, sustainable development and associated sustainable tourism. This section describes the influence of hospitality and tourism on the environment and not only the positive but also the negative. The role of international organizations in promoting sustainable tourism is also covered. Furthermore, the work describes ecological concepts in the hotel industry, which includes such key expressions as green management, green hotel and related topics - ecolabel and environmental management systems. The practical part of the thesis analyzes the environmental situation of service in a four star hotel which I have selected. Part of the analysis is the identification of deficiencies and reserves, with the possible remedies and the subsequent contributions to the environmental approach which forms the proposal section of this document. The final section describes the effects of the already implemented measures and the proposed environmental measures on the economic results of the hotel and also the image of the hotel.
