Criteria of public-interest journalism

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje vztahu veřejného zájmu a novinářské praxe. Veřejný zájem je pojem, kterým se novinář může bránit ve chvíli, kdy zasahuje do osobnostních práv jiného člověka. Problémem ovšem je, že veřejný zájem jako takový, není nikde přesně vymezen. Hlavním cílem práce je sestavení kritérií jednání novináře ve veřejném zájmu. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř částí, první se věnuje metodám použitých při realizace této práce, další poté mediální, právní a etické oblasti a zároveň analýze pojmu veřejný zájem. Následuje vymezení jednotlivých kritérií jednání novinářů ve veřejném zájmu a část poslední aplikuje teoretickou a analytickou část na praktický příklad. Celá práce je poté provázána reálnými příklady z praxe tak, aby daly smysl celé práci.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the relationship between public interest and journalistic practice. Public interest is a concept by which the journalist can resist everything when interferes with the personal rights of another person. The problem is that the public interest as a whole term is not precisely defined. The main goal is to build criteria of public-interest journalism. The thesis is divided into four parts, the first one deals with methods used in the implementation of this work, then other media, legal and ethical as well as analysis of the concept of public interest. Following the definition of the individual criteria conduct of journalists in the public interest and the last part applies the theoretical and analytical part at a practical example. The work is then linked to real examples from practice so as to give meaning to all of the work.
