Abstract:
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to introduce the image of a phenomenon of a "New Woman" in the selected works written by two lesser known writers, Mona Caird and Sarah Grand. The "New Women" appeared as a reaction to different women movements demanding the right to vote and were perceived as an icon of dramatically changing gender norms. Cílem této práce je představit zobrazení fenoménu "Nové Ženy" ve vybraných dílech dvou méně známých spisovatelek, Mony Caird a Sarah Grand. "Nové Ženy" se objevily jako reakce na nejrůznější ženská hnutí vyžadující právo volit a byly vnímány jako ikona rychle se měnících genderových standardů.
