Adaptive PSO Algorithm with Particle Performance Evaluation

Abstract:

V této diplomové práci se věnujeme rojovému metaheuristickému algoritmu PSO, který je využíván k řešení složitých optimalizačních problémů. Navrhujeme metody měření výkonnosti částic a různými způsoby upravujeme chování nevýkonných částic za účelem zvýšení efektivity algoritmu. Varianty algoritmu testujeme na testovací sadě CEC 2017 ve všech dimenzích, které tato sada podporuje. Nejefektivnější z vytvořených variant porovnáváme se zástupci moderních algoritmů. Výsledky provedených měření ukazují, že některé vytvořené varianty dosahují lepších výsledků než standardní verze algoritmu. Zlepšení je nejvýraznější v deseti dimenzích a postupně se se zvyšováním dimenzionality snižuje. Ve srovnání s nejlepšími zástupci moderních metod jsou však vytvořené varianty stále pozadu.

Abstract:

In this thesis, we study the swarm metaheuristic algorithm PSO, which is used to solve complex optimization problems. We propose methods to measure the performance of particles and modify the behavior of non-performing particles in various ways to improve the efficiency of the algorithm. We test variants of the algorithm on the CEC 2017 test suite in all dimensions supported by this suite. We compare the most efficient of the generated variants with representatives of modern algorithms. The results of the measurements show that some of the created variants achieve better results than the standard version of the algorithm. The improvement is most significant in ten dimensions and gradually decreases with increasing dimensionality. However, compared to the best representatives of modern methods, the created variants are still lagging behind.
