Oblast severních Čech je již řadu let velmi silně spjata s těžbou nerostných surovin. Především vlivem těžby hnědého uhlí byla zdejší krajina v minulosti velmi negativně ovlivněna. Rozvojem povrchové těžby ve zdejší oblasti byla krajina systematicky a plošně devastována. North-Bohemia region is tightly connected with mining activities. Brown coal surface mining was the main cause of systematical destruction of the local landscape in the history. At the same time activities aiming to landscape recovery had begun in order to restore all lost values. The complex of the activities heading towards to this goal is called ?landscape restoration?.
