Methodology literature by Philip Farkas and its comparison with selected literature for french horn

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o teoretických spisech Philipa Farkase, kterými jsou The Art of French Horn Playing, The Art of Brass Playing a The Art of Musicianship. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. První část má čtyři kapitoly, které se věnují životě Philipa Farkase a obsahu jeho tří spisů. Druhá část je věnována porovnání obsahu metodických prací mezi sebou, a porovnání jejich obsahu se zahraniční metodickou literaturou lesního rohu autorů Carmina Carusa a Fr?ydis Ree Wekre, a českou, která je zastoupena díly Josefa Kohouta, Emanuela Kauckého a Josefa Stibora.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with Philip Farkas' theoretical work, specifically with The Art of French Horn Playing, The Art of Brass Playing and The Art of Musicianship. Thesis is divided into two parts. First part consists of four chapters which comprise theme of Philip Farkas' life and content of his three methodical works. Second part encompasses comparison of his works among themselves and comparison of Farkas' works and foreign ones, written by Carmine Caruso and Fr?ydis Ree Wekre, and Czech works written by Josef Kohout, Emanuel Kaucký and Josef Stibor.
