Life story of Nový Prostor vendors

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá vývojem bezdomovectví prodejců Nového Prostoru. Jejím cílem je přinést poznatky o tom, jak prodejci Nového Prostoru zpětně vnímají příčiny a průběh svého bezdomovectví, jaký vliv mělo bezdomovectví na jejich identitu, a zjistit, jaký význam má pro ně prodej Nového Prostoru. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část práce v úvodu vysvětluje koncept životní situace, jelikož bezdomovectví je považováno za nepříznivou životní situaci, jež se ve společnosti zrcadlí v podobě sociálního vyloučení. Dále je pozornost věnována samotnému fenoménu bezdomovectví. Opomenuto nezůstává ani téma znovu začlenění bezdomovců do většinové společnosti a představení neziskového občanského sdružení Nový Prostor. Empirická část práce prezentuje metodologii výzkumného šetření a interpretaci dat. Vzhledem k povaze výzkumného problému a nastaveným výzkumným otázkám byl zvolen kvalitativní výzkum s biografickým přístupem. Výzkumný vzorek tvořili prodejci NP, se kterými byly uskutečněny opakované hloubkové biografické rozhovory. Výsledkem analýzy je biografická rekonstrukce životních příběhů a narativní struktura, jež má podobu řečnických figur. V závěru práce dochází k rekapitulaci výsledků a diskusi nad danou problematikou.

Abstract:

The master diploma thesis deals with the development of homelessness of the Nový Prostor vendors. A goal of the thesis is to serve the findings about how the Nový Prostor vendors apprehend the causes and process of homelessness retroactively, with what influence homelessness effect on identity of vendors and to find what the vendition of Nový Prostor signify for them. The thesis contains two parts, an empirical and a theoretical. In the introduction of the thesis the theoretical part explains a concept of life situation, because homelessness is considered to be an indisposed life situation that is reflected in society as a form of a social exclusion. Then the attention is dedicated to the phenomenon homelessness itself. The theme of the reintegration of the homeless to majority society isn't missing here either and as well as the introduction of Nový Prostor non-profit citizens' group. The empirical part of the thesis presents methodology of survey research and interpretation of facts. Given the character of the researched issue and chosen research questions the qualitative research with biographical approach was chosen. The research specimen consists of Nový Prostor vendors with whom were frequent, in-depth biographical interviews realized. A result of the analysis is a biographical reconstruction of the life stories and a narrative structure that has a form of figures of speech. In the end of the thesis these is a recapitulation of the results and the issue is being discussed.
