This bachelor thesis deals with the position of women in Australian literature by analyzing short stories about the drover's wife. The aim of this thesis is to point to gender inequality, which originated from Western stereotypes, and in Australia it is strengthened by the presence of the bush, a place appropriate primarily for male part of the population.
