The Church: Historical Cornerstone for Institutionalization of Social Work

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce "Církev: základní kámen pro institucionalizaci sociální práce". Cílem práce je zjistit klíčový význam církve pro vývoj sociální práce. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zabývá historickou rolí církve ve formování sociální práce vzhledem k postavení církve ve společnosti a k její základní ideologii. Je zde dokladováno, které celospolečenské změny měly na církev a sociální práci vliv, kam tyto změny sociální práci nasměřovaly a k jakému vyústění vedly. V praktické, empirické části byla použita metoda kvalitativního výzkumu. Formou dotazníkového šetření a analýzou příslušných primárních pramenů, a to s přihlédnutím ke zvolené literatuře, byla zjištěna shoda na skutečnosti, že církev již ze své podstaty christianismu byla základem pro sociální práci.

Abstract:

The title and main topic of the bachelor thesis is "The Church: A Cornerstone for the Institutionalization of Social Work". The work aims to identify the key role of the church that it has played in the development of social work. The paper is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the historical role of the church in the formation of social work with regard to the position of the church in society and its basic ideology. This part documents which societal changes have had an impact on the church and social work, where these changes in social work were headed and what was the outcome of these changes. In the practical, empirical part, the method of qualitative research was used. In the form of a questionnaire survey and analysis of the relevant primary sources, considering the selected literature, agreement was found on the fact that the role of the church in social work is basically based on the very essence of Christianism.
