Lifestyle and body composition in adolescents in the region of Teplice

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je deskripce, analýza a porovnání vybraných parametrů životního stylu a tělesného složení u adolescentů na Teplicku. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 80 adolescentů ze dvou základních škol na Teplicku. Životní styl žáků byl zjišťován za pomoci dotazníku "Dotazníku pro děti a mládež - 6. CAV 2001". Dále bylo potřebné zajistit výstupní data tělesného složení, k čemuž byla využita bioimpedanční metoda za pomoci přístroje Bodystat 1500MD. Z výzkumného šetření jsme zjistili, že podváhu mělo 20 % adolescentů, normální váhu 38 %, nadváhu 22 % a obezitou trpělo 11 % adolescentů. Průměrná hodnota pohybové aktivity za týden byla u chlapců 4,25 hod/týdně a u dívek 4,7 hod/ týdně. Dále bylo zjištěno, že 26 % adolescentů používá moderní technologie 14 a více hodin za týden, zatímco 0-3 hodiny za týden celých 9 %. Pravidelně snídá 70 % adolescentů, pravidelně obědvá teplé jídlo ve škole 60 %, zatímco 60 % adolescentů konzumuje potraviny mimo hlavní jídla. Výsledkem této práce bylo zjištění, že životní styl souvisí s tělesným složením. V práci se nám potvrdilo, že tělesné složení souvisí s pohybovou aktivitou a celkově životním stylem jedince. U chlapců se nám potvrdila teze, že množství pohybové aktivity ovlivňuje tělesné složení a množství tělesného tuku. Čím více se chlapci hýbali, tím ideálnější tělesné složení měli. Stejně tak život adolescentů ovlivňují moderní technologie, kdy jedinci, kteří trávili delší čas na technologiích, měli větší množství tělesného tuku. Technologie navyšují moderní trend, který prohlubuje nedostatek pohybu. Prožíváme tak volný čas méně aktivním způsobem, zatímco stále více času trávíme pasivně, právě u moderních technologií.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was an analysis to find out the connection between body composition and the amount of physical activity and the all-around lifestyle at the adolescent from Teplice region. We gathered 80 adolescent, 40 boys and 40 girls for the purpose of this research. Hypothesis were completed not only by the sex of adolescent, when in some cases we merged both sexes to find out the connection between lifestyle and body composition. We used the questionnaire survey followed by the measurement of the height and weight of every adolescent, followed by the analysis of body composition by BIA method using equipment Bodystat 1500MDD. The survey discovered that 20 % of adolescents are underweight, 38 % normal weigh, 22 overweight and 11 % of all adolescents in this thesis are obese. Boy's average time for physical activity was 4,25 hours per week, girl's average time was 4,7 hours per week. Around 4 % adolescent watch television 14 and more hours per week, whole 58 % watch TV for 0-3 hours per week. Modern technologies were used for 14 and more hours by 26 % of adolescent, 0-3 hours per week by 9 %. Survey proved that 70 % of adolescent usually eat breakfast, 60 % of them eat warm launch every day in school, but more than 60 % consume meals over the recommended number of daily meals. Result of this thesis was a Discovery, that lifestyle is really connected to body composition of young adolescence. In our work we can accept the fact, that body composition is dependent on physical activity and lifestyle. At boys we discovered that the amount of physical movement affects the body composition and the amount of body fat. Next, we did accept the hypothesis, that modern technology do affect adolescents life, when respondents, who spend more time during the week by modern technologies, had bigger amount of body fat. Technologies does have some big impact on our body composition, because we move less.
