This thesis examines the context of Langerhans islet autotransplantation after total pancreatectomy in pediatric patients with pancreatic disease. This large-scale study reviews primary studies to assess the current scientific evidence regarding this procedure, focusing on the patient's ability to achieve insulin independence and improved quality of life while minimizing pain.
