Czech Republic - the welfare state (comparison of Czech and Swedish model)

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje hlavní rysy českého a švédského státu blahobytu. První kapitola bude věnována vysvětlení pojmu, důvodům vzniku sociálního státu a jeho základní charakteristice. V této kapitole se také budu zabývat kritérii, na jejichž základě následně porovnám stav v České republice a Švédsku. Mezi tato kritéria patří např. velikost veřejného sektoru a výše veřejných výdajů, způsob financování systému či strategie přerozdělování. Druhou část zaměřím na Českou republiku na jedné straně a skandinávský model sociálního zabezpečení, konkrétně Švédsko, na straně druhé. Jednotlivé modely státu blahobytu nejsou totožné, ale závisí na konkrétních podmínkách (např. institucionálních, politických), ve kterých se vyvíjely. Proto se v druhé kapitole krátce zmíním o historii a příčinách vzniku sociálního státu v obou zemích. Poté se podrobněji zaměřím na současný stav. V třetí kapitole porovnám zjištěné poznatky a vyhodnotím je.

Abstract:

This thesis analyzes the main features of the Czech and Swedish welfare state. The first chapter is devoted to explain the concept, the reasons for the emergence of the welfare state and its basic characteristics. In this chapter I will also address the criteria on which base I will compare situation between the Czech Republic and Sweden. These criteria include, for example the size of the public sector and the public expenditure, the financial system or strategy allocation. The second part will focus on the Czech Republic on the one hand and the Scandinavian model of social security, namely Sweden, on the other. The various models of the welfare state are not identical, but depends on conditions (eg, institutional, political), which had developed. Therefore, in the second chapter briefly mention the history and causes of welfare state in both countries. After that, I will a closer focus on the current situation. The third chapter compares the findings and appreciates them.
