Client-Centered Approach in the theory and practice of social work

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem přístupu zaměřeného na klienta v teorii a praxi sociální práce. Cílem této práce je teoreticky popsat přístup zaměřený na klienta a dále pak v rámci výzkumné části zjistit, zda se tento přístup sociálními pracovníky využívá v praxi sociální práce. Práce je tedy rozčleněna do dvou částí a to na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část práce se nejprve věnuje humanistickým teoriím, které jsou s přístupem velmi úzce spjaty. Další kapitolou v práci je vymezení tohoto pojmu. Třetí kapitola je obsáhlejší a věnuje se rogersovkému přístupu, kdy je tento přístup vystaven také kritice různých autorů. Čtvrtá kapitola poukazuje na důležité podmínky podpory klienta, ve které je popsána empatie, kongruence a akceptace. Předposlední kapitola se věnuje přístupu ze stránky využitelnosti v praxi. Kdy jsou popsány jednotlivé techniky v rámci tohoto přístupu. Cílem výzkumu je zjistit, jak sociální pracovníci vnímají a využívají přístup zaměřený na klienta v praxi při práci se seniory, čemuž je věnována šestá kapitola diplomové práce. Pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu je nalezena odpověď na výzkumnou otázku a veškerá data, získaná během výzkumu jsou podrobena analýze a následné interpretaci.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with an approach focused on the client in the theory and practice of social work. The aim of this thesis is to describe theoretically approach focused on the client, and then in the context of research to determine whether this approach employs social workers in social work practice. The work is therefore divided into two parts, the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is at first dedicated humanist theories that are accessing very closely linked. Another chapter in the work of the definition of this term. The third chapter is extensive and is dedicated to rogersovkému approach where this approach is also exposed to criticism by various authors. The fourth chapter highlights the important conditions of client support in which it describes empathy, congruence and acceptance. The penultimate chapter is devoted to access the website usability in practice. When individual techniques are described in this approach. The research aims to find out how social workers perceive and utilize client-centered approach in practice when working with seniors which is dedicated to the sixth chapter of the thesis. Through qualitative research is to answer the research question and all the data gathered during research are subjected to analysis and subsequent.
