Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na baziliku Nanebevzetí Panny Marie, která leží na Mendlově náměstí v Brně, s jejíž stavbou se začalo již v roce 1328 a starobrněnský klášter, jehož je součástí. Práce pojednává o bazilice samotné, její historii až současnosti, postupných úpravách interiéru a exteriéru, církevních řádech, které v ní působily a osobách pohřbených v ní, například Elišce Rejčce.
