Předmětem diplomové práce je hypotéza o jedinečných jednotkách (unique items hypothesis), kterou předložila Tirkkonen-Conditová jako možnou překladovou univerzálii a podle které se prvky, jež má cílový jazyk oproti zdrojovému navíc, vyskytují v překladech s nižší frekvencí než v nepřekladech. The subject of the thesis is Tirkkonen-Condit’s unique items hypothesis, a proposed (universal) feature of translation according to which translations contain lower frequencies of target-language-specific linguistic items than non-translations.
