Individual and community quality of life in the suburbs: case study in the hinterland of Brno

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce je mapování faktorů ovlivňujících individuální a sídelní kvalitu života ve vzorku suburbanizovaných obcí v zázemí Brna. Ve výzkumu byly zpracovávány semistrukturované rozhovory za použití kódovací metody. Výsledkem práce je stanovení primárních atributů v subjektivní i objektivní dimenzi kvality života v suburbiích a dále určení faktorů jež tyto atributy prokazatelně ovlivňují. Na základě informací zjištěných tímto výzkumem je následně možné pracovat s rizikovými jevy spojenými s kvalitou života vznikajícími v suburbanizovanných obcích a popřípadě jim předejít.

Abstract:

Main topic of this dissertation is mapping of factors that affect individual and urban quality of life in a sample of suburban municipalities of Brno territory. In the research, interviews were obtained and processed using coding method. Result of this work is determination of primary attributes in subjective and objective dimensions of quality of life in suburban areas and subsequent definition of factors which demonstrably affect these attributes. Based on the information revealed by the research, it is then possible to work with and possibly avoid unwanted quality of life phenomenona which can develop in suburban municipalities.
