Analysis of the Stilistic Means in Stories by Doris Dörrie. A Comparison of the Original with the Czech Translation

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the contrastive stylistic analysis based on two books, which are the German original by current writer Doris Dörrie "Für immer und ewig" and the Czech translation by Hanuš Karlach. The first part of the theoretical part is focused on the theory of translation, there is also a short chapter about literary translation. The second part of the theoretical part contains the definition of the term „stylistics“ and deals with individual stylistic figures and elements. The base of the thesis is the practical part, which is focused on the contrastive analysis of two stories, ie. comparing the original and Czech translation from the stylistic point of view.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá kontrastivní stylistickou analýzou na základě dvou knih, a to německého originálu od současné německé spisovatelky Doris Dörrie "Für immer und ewig" a českého překladu díla od Hanuše Karlacha. První část teoretické části je zaměřena na teorii překladu, je zde i krátká kapitola o literárním překladu. Druhá část teoretické části obsahuje vymezení pojmu "stylistika" a věnuje se jednotlivým stylistickým figurám a prvkům. Samotné jádro práce tvoří praktická část, která se zabývá kontrastivní analýzou dvou povídek, tzn. srovnáním německého originálu a českého překladu ze stylistického hlediska.
