Vhils' artwork in a public space

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na streetartového umělce Alexandra Farteho, známého jako Vhilse. Úvodní část práce se soustředí na vymezení street artu a jeho objasnění. V následujících kapitolách je už věnována pozornost výhradně Vhilsovi. Práce popisuje jeho tvorbu ve veřejném prostoru, konkrétně se věnuje projektu <I>Scratching the Surface</I>. Projekt zkoumá ze tří hledisek– konceptu, techniky a námětu. Nejprve daná hlediska popisuje a poté v jejich rámci sleduje Vhilsovy charakteristické prvky. Ty následně komparuje s ostatními streetartovými umělci. Na základě provedených komparací autorka posuzuje, zda Vhils v kontextu street artu přichází s inovativními prvky.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines street artist Alexandre Farto, known as Vhils. The aim of the introductory part is the definition of street art and its clarification. In the following sections, focuses exclusively on Vhils. This work describes his art pieces in public space, specifically deals with the project <I>Scratching the Surface</I>. The project is examined from three perspectives – concept, technique, and theme. It first describes the given perspectives and then follows Vhils' characteristic elements within them. Thesis then compares them with other street artists. Based on the comparisons made, the author assesses whether Vhils comes up with innovative elements in the context of street art.
