Stress and Affectation as Topics of an Individual Action Research

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je individuální akční výzkum zaměřený na sledování změn a práce v kategoriích Moje reakce v afektu a Moje práce se stresem. Cílem teoretické části je definovat stres, afekt a pojmy s nimi související. Poslední kapitola vymezuje akční výzkum, jeho typologii, modely, typy a definuje osobnost a její rozvoj, která je uplatnitelná v profesi a následně rozebrána v teoretické části. Cílem empirické části je porozumět vlastním afektivním stavům a stresovým reakcím, zjistit možnosti práce s nimi, aplikovat nové techniky (postupy) v praxi a zjistit změny ve vybraných oblastech pomocí čtyřfázového modelu akčního výzkumu dle Seymoura-Rollse a Hughese (1998). Validita a reliabilita kvalitativního výzkumu byla zajištěna triangulací sběru dat v podobě kvalitativních a kvantitativních metod. Hlavní výzkumnou metodou byl osobní deník individuálního akčního výzkumu (PARJ) analyzován metodou otevřeného kódování. K dalším patří dotazník Stress profil, osobnostní test Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Škála duševní pohody, dotazník vlastní konstrukce, polostrukturovaný rozhovor a pro zpětnou vazbu sebezážitková aktivita a Focus group. Po celou dobu byla analýza dat prováděna metodou tematické analýzy. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty přínosy individuálního akčního výzkumu k zúženým kategoriím a uvedeny konkrétní techniky a strategie v oblastech vedoucí ke změně a práci v osobnostním a profesním rozvoji.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals mainly with individual action research focused on monitoring changes and work in categories such as My reactions in affect and My work with stress. The primary purpose of the theoretical part is to define stress, affect and concepts related to them. The last chapter defines action research, its typology, models and types, defines personality and its development which is applicable in the profession and then it's discussed in the theoretical part. The aims of the empirical part are to understand one's own affective states and stress reactions, to find out the possibilities of working with them and to apply new techniques (procedures) in practise and finally to find out changes in selected areas by using four-phase model of action research according to Seymour-Rolls and Hughes (1998). The validity and reliability of qualitative research was ensured by triangulation of data collection in the form of qualitative and quantitative methods. The main research method was the personal action research journal (PARJ) analysed by the open coding method. Others include the Stress Profile questionnaire, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality test (MBTI), the Mental Well-Being Scale, a self-designed questionnaire, a semi-structured interview and self-experience activity for feedback, and the Focus group. For the whole time the data analysis was performed by the method of thematic analysis. At the end of the thesis, the contributions of individual action research to narrowed categories are summarized and specific techniques and strategies in the areas leading to change and work in personal and professional development are presented.
